Featuring the smallest head size in the Clash family, this stick delivers pinpoint targeting on full cuts.
It also packs a 325+ swingweight, which provides the needed mass to get the ball moving through the court.
In addition to updating this racquet with a 16x20 string pattern, Wilson reinforces the upper hoop to create a more solid and responsive hitting surface. As with the first generation of Clash racquets, the 98 v2 is defined by Wilson's innovative frame technology, originally called FreeFlex. Renamed FORTYFIVE, this patented frame technology enables the racquet to bend (and soften impact) across a wider geometry of stoke paths. The payoff is greater comfort when addressing the ball at extreme angles, a fact that makes the Clash very appealing to topspin players in search of a more tendon friendly option. Recommended to strong intermediates and advanced players.

The traded-in racket must be a 100% graphite adult performance racket that was purchased after January 2014. The racket can be Wilson or any other brand, as long as it fits the criteria.
what wilson mentioned is confusing, 2014 yr is ok, but what is standard to judge performance racket...they don't have any list like trade-in phone. I guess many of racquet sent back will be declined and charged $50 back.......looks like wilson playing game....
newbie question, is that luxilon power 17/1.25 string ($4.95, save $10) a good choice for this racquet? thanks.
Tough to say without knowing your skill level, preferred feel, your game style etc. it's a good string although after several hours of use the playability drops off. Usually beginner players should use synthetic gut instead of polyester, the latter of which is a lower powered type of string.
It's a good racquet that you can grow with, but a more head light racquet will be easier for a beginner to start with. Tennis players with sensitive arms tend to gravitate to the Clash frames.
But how come it mentioned if donation not been received or meet requirements, credit card will be charged $50?
Are you looking at the Wilson site rather than Tennis Warehouse? Wilson appears to be strict about the donation. Tennis Warehouse does not appear to care about verifying it.
Any recommendations on strings/tension for a beginner?
Im no expert, but when I bought the Clash V1, I ordered it with
Head Velocity MLT 17/1.25 String Natural @ 53
with the objective of keeping it arm friendly like this frame was made to do.
But keep in mind the 98 isnt really a beginner racquet

Thanks after doing more reading I think I will hold off and wait for a different racquet. I got the Boom MP from earlier this year and it's been such a nice racquet to play with, that my gf wants to take it so I was looking for a replacement.

Sounds like the "regular" Clash 100 v2 would be perfect for you. Hopefully it goes on sale soon so I can pick one up too

so Tennis warehouse site didn't mention donation verification and re-charge $50 after not receiving old reqauet? also, Unlike wilson website said, they will give u pre-paid label and direction to send back?
Does ur order from TW come with donation pre-paid label and instruction?
I don't have old one to donate, just don't want my credit card charged $50 more after 30 days....

I have received the racket. I just called TW to confirm. Donating old tennis rackets to charity is not mandatory, it is purely voluntary.

For step #2 under How It Works, TW does not specify a specific charity and did not provide a label to send the donation back to them. Honor code.
