I'm tempted, but then I need to buy paddles, life vest, fishing stuff.. and a way to bring it to a river. Maybe I should just try to rent first lol

Mind the weight limit. 250 includes you and all of your gear, and you generally don't want to exceed 70-80% of the boats max capacity. Meaning you + all your gear should be close to 200lbs max.

And good luck having it arrived undamaged. I had a free one sent to me from Dicks and I'm pretty sure an airplane dropped it from 15,000 feet into the delivery truck

It's a solid yak. I have a previous model. I use mine to fish rockfish in northern California ocean without any issues. Most guys fishing in the ocean prefer to not use pedal drive due to durability and simplicity of paddling. It keeps weight down if you have to haul down to the beach yourself.

idk, where I kayak, the sit-ons have a limit of 275. I'm 240 and can get a loaded cooler with ice and beverages on there (I'd guess pushing at least 260 with it all) and there are no issues. When it comes to safety, not something to gamble with but I wouldn't wave these off because someone says everything shouldn't be more than 200#

The stripped down version of this kayak has a weight capacity of 300 pounds. I suspect 250 pounds capacity might be a little conservative. The extra weight of more handles, bungees, suspension chair, and a few more nooks and crannies of plastic in the hull is likely not worth a 50 pound loss of weight capacity. For light to average weight people this seems like a great deal.

rent a pedal drive before you buy. Some in my kayak group have sold them within a few months of purchase. Pain in the rear in the shallows or with hitting rocks or branches underwater.

Just because you can do something doesn't mean you should. You do you. Others can decide for themselves. The guidelines I provided are just that.
