REI is offering $100 off same dates so probably going to be multiple retailers offering this. Check the best cash back offers.
Wonder if Garmin's own website will have the same discount.
I can get 20% off and use $150 from my insurance company's wellness card on the Garmin website but it is through their link I think. Just not sure if they always have regular prices through that link or if they follow the same promos as the regular site and allow to stack the 20% off.
I have a Fenix 7 and my wife felt her 6X was too big about 2 months after I bought it new off Amazon (ships&sold by Amazon) wasn't able to return it as it was past 30 days so it sits in the drawer. Smh.
She got this and it took very little effort to scratch the crappy plastic screen of this watch. There are also micro scratches as well on the screen; I can't recommend this watch for that reason.
The battery on my Forerunner 305 from something like 15+ years ago is FINALLY dying after many thousands of miles of use, so the timing of this is perfect. Hopefully the 265 is just as good.

The 965 is one of the best running watches I have ever owned. July 2023 I purchased the 965 for 500. I run a fair amount annually 3000 plus miles. Coming from the Fenix family I thought no way this watch will last well it has. Battery sucks but if you want the AMOLED for maps or a pic of your dog than just be ready for a terrible battery, especially if your running multiband plus track every second vs five seconds and using some of the sleep measure tools. Even though the battery sucks it has just consistently remained terrible but hasn't gotten worse. Just as example tonight I did a 2 hour plus run using multiband and had route course map and pace pro going the entire time with the map constantly on the screen while listening to music from it to my headphones so it is at 70 percent battery right now. I charged it this morning. Anyway, I read somewhere that sometime in September Garmin may be revealing a new watch at some expo. Like someone else said in this post doubtful it's a 967. Possibly a LTE Fenix with AMOLED? Who knows. I don't know anything about the other ones in this series. I do a lot of land clearing that is the one thing I won't use this watch for. That being said I wouldn't toss this watch for any other Garmin except a lte 965 or LTE Fenix. I will get a couple more years out of it I'm sure its worth the money.

Thanks!
Rockin a 305 for 15 years much respect. I imagine any of these newer garmins won't come close but I'm sure you already knew that and just bragging about the 305, which you should be that watch is og legit

I'm in the same boat with the 20% discount. I checked the Garmin site this morning and the price is still $450. Instead of waiting any longer, I ordered the watch on REI's site, so I can return it if Garmin's site changes in the next couple of days.
I got the 965 from Kohls last Black Friday and I absolutely love this watch. Battery life is usually in the range of 7 to 10 days with moderate exercise (I bike/run 3 or 4 days a week.)
The 965 also has great golfing GPS, if you happen to play golf as well.
I would suggest you get some screen protection item though.. I grabbed a screen protector and cover from Amazon and have no damage in the last year. When I'm paying this much for an item, I'd like to make sure it stays this nice for a long time.
I highly recommend it if you are a moderate/very active person.

I can't tell if this is a positive or negative review

Also, I think it's unlikely that a 975 is close.
