it's 1200p on 11" screen. That's better pixel per inch compared to a 1080p 24" monitor. Yes, the Ipad is better at 10.2" 2160x1620, but it is $200 on a sale compared to $131 but you only get 64GB of space vs 128GB of space on this deal. it's also 8GB of ram on the Samsung vs only 3GB on the ipad.
I got this a few weeks ago at this same price. Comparing to a Tab S7+ and S9, the screen obviously can't compare, neither does performance. However, compared to my older A7 and A7 Lite, those is perfectly serviceable. I'm very happy with it at this price point!

EDIT: I also have the 5G version with only 4GB of RAM. TBH, not much difference in my opinion. 8GB is still better because I disable the "RAM PLUS" option that uses storage for additional RAM (and that is slower for sure).
This is only partially true. ipads have good resale value. but most people who buy an Android tablet and get disappointed are the ones that buy a cheap Android tablet, and then switch to an ipad being forced to pay A LOT more money. An Android device with above average to high specs lasts much longer than an iOS device.

The home button on the 9th gen is crucial for a kid and older folks. I babysit a toddler and I'm an older folk.

Whats the performance like on this model? All the cheap Android tablets I've read about or tried were worse than sluggish, is this one smooth with the 8GB of memory?

I got this from the last deal when it was $131.74. Awesome tablet for the price, the kids love it. We're not Apple people so dunno how it compares to iPad

For $130 you can get a tablet with a snapdragon processor and 5g outright without being tied to a cell provider for 2 years. It's on the latest version of Android so it's not bad and you know what the iPad doesn't have? 90hz refresh!

I bought this tablet a month or so ago for the same price. I'll concede that the display isn't the best but its more than functional. It also has an sd card slot - something iPads obviously dont have. this tablet mainly serves me when on road trips or flights and for 180 all in (140 + 40 sd card) its an amazing value for me.

There is a 5G variant, but that only comes with 4 GB of RAM, and you have to purchase through a carrier. I have not seen the US market 5G variant unlocked, or direct from Samsung. This model sold from Samsung direct is only Wi-Fi, no cellular.

uhm. yeah. that's just what he said too. I think you misread his statement and he is not saying it's better to get a phone, but the other way around
"you can get this tablet instead of a new phone and being forced to a contract".
