These the same CPUs from intel causing permanent damage if not undervolted/BIOS updated?
Yes, but considering this is a prebuilt from Costco, you're covered if anything happens.

can someone please confirm whether memory is upgradable?(meaning, can you insert more memory into rest of 2 slots?) is anything blocking that?

One of the reviewers (Techwise) on the Costco site posted what seems to be helpful instructions:

The MSI Center driver updates was useful and seemed to download and install about five or six updates for various devices. From there all seemed pretty good until I started getting multiple Windows 11 Blue Screen Of Deaths (BSOD).

Looking at the Windows Event Viewer, I noticed the event prior to crashing the system was " driver detected a controller error on \Device\RaidPort2". Seems like something in the SDD subsystem may be causing an error. After some research, I downloaded the Western Digital "Digital Dashboard" app since my SDD is a WD SN580 Blue 2TB. This app found the SDD healthy but there was a new firmware update. I applied the update using the app without issue. Link to the WD Digital Dashboard: https://support-en.wd.com/app/ans...9#subject2

I also went to the MSI Center and used the Live Updates option, which found three more updates, two regarding Intel components. After installing all these updates, I've not had any other BSOD events.

Despite the need for these updates, which I consider normal for any new PC, I like this machine. Surprisingly, it has WiFi 6 and Bluetooth 5.3 as well as two USB C external ports. I downloaded the MSI motherboard manual, which is very useful in understanding all features this board offers.

I got this very same PC back in July from Costco and it was $899 back then. It's a beautiful looking PC in a Phantek NV5 case. It works fantastic. I've had zero problems since purchasing it. However I should state that I do not play games but create content using after effects and premier and that works great. I recommend this PC.

Doesn't Costco provide a limited return window for computers? I thought it was 90-days.

I got that too. I had to downgrade from win11 to win10 and its running problem free now.

Did you try to do a fresh install of Windows 11 instead?

I got random "critical process died" error crashes all the time. This is after updating drivers and trying everything. Does this mean defective hardware?
Did you end up fixing this? I keep getting the errors as well, not sure if i want to do a fresh reinstall.

It's 90 days from Costco, but you have the entire manufacturer warranty after that.

The point being, if there's still an issue with the processor after 3 months, you either didn't apply the BIOS update that fixes the issue or people have become very tight lipped about the issue all of a sudden.

I'm seeing conflicting information on whether the motherboard is an ASRock or Gigabyte for this Cyberpower system.

I've never had a problem with either brand, but some might prefer MSI.

It does look like the heatsink on this system blocks one of the RAM slots, so you'll have to buy a different one if you ever wanted to populate all four slots.

Ultimately, the better deal is the better buy.

Necro time! Any suggestions on how to identify a heatsink that would allow for all 4 slots to be filled?

Whether it physically covers the slot is the only restriction. The manufacturer page usually has measurements and diagrams.

Some of these big, honking pieces of copper and aluminum have massive fans sticking out of them that literally prevent you from fitting the RAM in.

If you want to trade one headache for another, you can always go with an AiO water cooler. Those are very low profile and keep the board very neat.

I recently purchased a ThermalRight 360mm kit for $50 on Amazon and it's working well on my i9. I'm kind of astounded, as the average price on water cooling kits was historically over $100.
