If buying with InstaCart make sure to get the GC from Costco first, $80 for $100 worth, and you can get 2 of them; effectively offsetting the higher instacart price vs the in warehouse price.

I think RTINGS [rtings.com] has a decent summary of the differences between the C3 and C4

I've got the C3 in this size last year. It's a great TV and thinking about replacing the my bedroom set with this, I just wish the 55' was on sale as well.

Are you guys using this as a monitor or a TV? I'm on the fence. I have a really nice 38" LG monitor I use with a 42" older LG OLED that's hanging above it that I use for TV background noise and for the occasional movie in front of my computer. Worth upgrading that 42"?

Monitor all the way, as a tv you got to go 55" or higher.

how this is compared to the LG C3 (55 in) bought $799 ? I was planning to buy a C3 or C4 in 42 in but couldn't find a good deal use it,
this is exclusively for gaming (PS5) in home office desk set up
is the C4 a big improvement compared to C3 ?

I think RTINGS [rtings.com] has a decent summary of the differences between the C3 and C4

"The LG C4 OLED is slightly better than the LG C3 OLED. The C4 gets brighter in HDR, so highlights pop a little bit more on it. The C4 also has slightly better PQ EOTF tracking, so it's a bit more accurate when it comes to the content creator's intent, and its better color volume delivers slightly brighter colors. If you're a PC gamer looking to take full advantage of your high-end graphics card, the C4 supports up to 144Hz versus 120Hz on the C3, so it's the better option for that. However, when viewed from an angle, the C4 has a noticeable green tint, so the C3 is the better choice for wide seating arrangements."

I've been using the 42" C3 as a monitor since January when I lucked out and stumbled upon a returned C3 at Costco, the manager gave it to me for $650.00 since they dont typically carry them in stores. I cant see going bigger than 42" for a monitor, in some ways its still just a smidge to large and I have a 60" depth.desk. Your mileage may vary but I personally think anything larger than 42" is going to be to big on a desk.
I will say I have been blown away by the value for these as pc monitors compared to what the industry has slowly given us over the last 5-8 years. I waited forever for them to bring a 32" 4K 120hz panel and that only JUST started this year and no surprise the prices are high. I'm ready to never give another dollar to "conventional" pc monitor makers because of them trying to sandbag us for a decade and still are. Thanks LG for forcing their hands and giving us so much more value for money.

I went with the Bestbuy deal for the LG 48 B4 for $799 because I could not justify the extra $100 for the C4 version in a bedroom.

I've been looking at this all day and caving in and going to Costco tomorrow. I perfer the 800r curve but this is a good price and very temping.

How about the response time?.. I have a 34" Alienware 120hz 1ms. Would this be worse for FPS?

This TV has a .1ms response time as well and native 120hz but in gaming looks like it goes up 144hz. Comparable monitors have a .03ms and significantly more expensive. I really love how aggressive an 800r curve is but maybe I can get use to a flat display.

I am in the same boat and was also considering whether it was worth it or not....
