I have the Samsung Galaxy Tab 6S Lite I bought in 2022. Would this be worth trading in? Or should I offer it on Swappa and forget getting another tablet? FWIW, it's in pristine shape. I always used a cover but put it away b/c I like my ipad(s) better.

Going to S9FE from S6 is clearly a downgrade.

Downside is no more software/security updates with the S6.
Good call. I'll keep the S6 for now. Maybe another good upgrade offer will come for the next model next year.

Just ordered and trading in my S6 Lite (2020). I think that's pretty good, I don't have to worry about old tablet battery crapping out on me. Just wipe out my LineageOS and restore the stock OS. The question is, should I open the new S9 FE and start using it, or should I wait until Samsung accept my S6 Lite first? (which may take a while, I haven't even get email about how to sent in the trade-in device yet.)
Didn't installing LINEAGEOS trip Knox e-fuse?

Yes. S6 lite is slow.

Unable to replicate this deal, fe +12 inch fe only give you option to maximize up 300 trade in. For 10.9 you can max 150 trade in. closest way to replicate is to select samsung 9fe 10.9 > 8gb +256gb > trade in 300 tablet > 113 without tax using edu

I don't know. But FWIW, there is nothing that says tripped Knox cannot be use for trade-in. Also, When I put stock back on and re-lock it, it didn't give me any complain. It will just boot like normal, there was no warning screen popup during boot.

Reinstalling stock does not heal tripped Knox

Knox is a flag used by Samsung to see if a device has been tampered with.

To view the Knox flag, you have to hold down certain buttons when powering on. 0x0 means not tripped. 0x1 means tripped.

If tripped, warranty is void, and Samsung rejects it. Not sure if trade ins are rejected, too.

If tripped, the device is intentionally damaged to not allow things like encrypted folder, Samsung pay, Google pay, and some other things.

This cannot be repaired back. This is why I avoid Samsung mostly and, when I do get Samsung, I never put a custom roms on them.

With a pixel, when you install a 3rd party rom, it will break safety net and break Google pay. But the difference is, when you put stock Rom back on it, everything is healed back to normal. None of that permanent destruction Samsung does.

I'm sure when you were gathering files to install Lineage on a Samsung, you saw a dozen warnings in bold red 72 point font telling you not to proceed unless you were to the point you were ready to throw the tablet in the trash can, already and de-valuing the tablet by 95% doesn't matter to you.

You can if you purchase the 8GB/256GB model. Ends up being about $120 before taxes.

What are you folks using tablets for aside from maybe watching YT? I have two collecting dust that I have no use for. My phone's screen is 6.7" and does everything a tablet does. For watching movies, I got a TV. For any serious job, I use my laptop

Not dissing your choises, just wondering what you are using them for

For tablet in general, yea watching movies but also reading (ebooks, novels, mangas). Phone is not a good reading device. But sometime I do keep old device as an authenticator backup.

Tablet is not good for reading either. Terrible for your eyes. Ebook is the solutuon.

Magazines? Maybe. I used to read PDFs on tablets bc Kindle's screen was too small. Still bad for your eyes though. But now that there are larger screen ebooks, that became irrelevant too

In short, in my humble opinion, tablets became kind of obsolete. They were relevant when phones used to have 4"-screens

are you talking about the 8gb ram version of the A9+?
Yea. I bought the A9+ 128gb/8gb ram (silver) for $131.74 plus tax on July 26th 2024 on the Samsung website. It is a solid tablet and very good bang for the buck.
