If my Google maps is correct... this hotel is 1.5 hours from Yosemite valley? The price is right, but 3 hours round trip is going to be an exhausting drive. Is that standard for Yosemite hotels?

yup, it's not a good choice if visiting Yosemite. The Yosemite Westgate Lodge in Groveland is closer or if you want a budget stay that's fun, visit the Yosemite Bug in Midpines off 140 which will get you 30 minutes from the west entrance. I've stayed in their heated tent cabins a number of times in October and NOv since my favorite time to visit with some storms and snow.

Last year I used a travelzoo voucher that cost $279 for 2 nights at the pines in a dog-friendly chalet. It cost an extra $133 total for all the fees. It came with a $50 dining credit and i spent about $20 more for dinner. The voucher's value was supposedly $466.

Travelzoo did not have a membership fee then. My total cost was around $400.

So the actual cost for non-members this time is going to be around $229 or $299 (+100+40) or $350 or $400.

Looks like it would cost about $530 according to the website. So there are some savings.

It was a nice trip in mid-january. There was some snow on the ground. Didn't go to Yosemite.

It'll certainly cost more, but if you can I would recommend trying to stay at a lodge or campsite in the park. I'm guessing that the 1.5hrs you cited doesn't include the traffic/line to get into the park in the morning. I love Yosemite, but it gets quite crowded so you really want to get an early start in the mornings. Adding that extra drive time would be brutal.

Not worth it if you plan to use this as a base camp for the park. Way too far of a drive plus there is a line to get it.. plus you need reservations.
