Deal Details
Beginning MONDAY August 26, Subway will sell any footlong sandwich for $6.99 — a steep discount considering that some footlongs can cost as much as $14 in some cities. It's the privately held chain's latest attempt at luring back customers who are balking at rising fast food prices and spending less when they do go out.

The deal has a catch: The offer is only available via its app or website with the code "699FL" and ends on September 8.

There is no way I'm going to install an app in order to buy fast food at a fair price.

If you can't just let me pull in at random, order and pay at the window; then I'm out for good.
Installing an app takes seconds these days. I actually install then delete all the time whenever I look for deals on the apps. It's worth the few dollars off considering inflation.

Subway is and will always be garbage. $6.99 is NOT a deal. Even when they had $5 footlongs I think I had it once, it wasn't even worth it at that price.

Don't buy food just because it's cheap! Spend a little more and get Firehouse or Jersey Mike's which is WAY better than Subway. Subway spends all its dollars in Marketing and skimps on quality ingredients. Remember Jared???

Yep - their profits don't just come from jacking up prices and running skeleton crews, they also come from other cost-cutting & self-destructive tactics like switching to more cheaply-sourced, lower-quality ingredients, and/or smaller portions, hoping no one notices.

Many of these greedy corporations tried fleecing us all for as much as possible these last several years, while their employees suffer, and I'd like to think they've permanently lost the business of millions of people like me who are tired of being price gouged any time money's being exchanged.

Private equity is killing off the last positive aspects of capitalism with their only goal being to extract as much profit as possible.
You haven't heard? Subway this week called an all hands on deck meeting because it's hurt them so badly they are suffering and about to try desperately to get people back. Next up, the rest of these companies.

Woo. Yes. What a hot (sub) mess. (I upped this deal since I think the deal itself is good, but Subway is another matter.)

I think $14 for 2 was an ok deal and it's been probably a year since I did a Bogo with Schlubway…

Yesterday I tried my iPad while at the library and the site wouldn't open.
I used Firefox on my laptop and couldn't pick a store.

I used Chrome and the store picker loaded but then the progress spinner stalled.
I said screw it and then just did my trip a Walmart instead. I saw a banner in Walmart for the same deal. I stood in line for about 5 minutes and was reading the fine print. I didn't see anything out of the ordinary or specific for the deal itself. The banner showed the meatball sub and a pizza sub footlong.

I ordered a meatball and BMT. And I gestured to the banner "the two sub deal" and he said "what do you see there?"

And I thought 'how fun' sarcastically. I said 2 subs for $13.99. He said 'no' and paused. I looked at him for a second like 'I don't know. Tell me.'

And he said it was just for those 2 subs types only, but there was nothing on the banner to suggest otherwise.

I said "Really? Ok thank you, I didn't understand it that way. Thanks!"

I started walking off.

I was probably 10 feet away and faintly heard him say outloud but as if I hadn't walked off 'the picture is of a meatball sub… and of a pizza sub…" 15 feet away and still heard him going on…'and the banner shows those two because…"

When I got home I saw a Subway promo here. I'd ended up stopping and getting a good #7 from Jimmy John's which was pretty decent, and even better without all the promo conflicts.

I'm in one of those cities. No way I'm paying $14+ for Subway. We have a local chain that destroys Subway for maybe a dollar or two more. What a joke.

When they removed the bmt from the classic menu, and added extra cheese and raised the price, I was out. Jimmy John's, jersey Mike's and potbelly are all better subs.
Jersey Mike's sub sitting in a dumpster for a week is a better sub than Subway.

Right!? I ordered the new bmt the other day and I told the lady I only wanted the regular amount of cheese. She said that's fine but you'll still be charged for double cheese. Wtf!? Subway has lost their way.

I used this coupon to grab a grinder this morning to eat later on a hike. The worker gave me a dozen cookies for free because she said they were from yesterday and can't sell them. The "fresh" cookies they sell in containers at grocery stores probably sit out for a week, so I'm cool with it.
