Those pair of PB2000s properly implemented should perform very well unless that family room is huge and you're trying to fill the whole room.
Not knowing your knowledge level but learning to calibrate those subs will save you a lot of money.
A good room correction and learning how to use it properly can be pretty helpful also.
In the bedroom, I use Schiit sys speaker outputs Y split into the Micro 3000. I tune it by ear.
REW says i have a flat response in the family room. Sounds boring to me.
REW says I have nearly level sub emphasis until near 1k, then it flatlines I'd assume the Micro would cut off at 100hz). I have to figure this all out.
Maybe I should admit that I'm a bass head, but I mostly listen to jazz and funk (contemporary recordings with lots brass and tubas and upright bass/slap bass)

lol if I had a dime for every time I've heard that before, I would have a lot of dimes!
That's the beauty of a good modern RCs, you can tune it however you like and fairly easy.
I say tune by ear, you didn't need some measurement for you to know what sounds good in your bedroom, why is it different in the family room!
Can't tell how many time I've gotten into a discussion about a measurement vs what is actually heard!

I disagree that the closest model to the PB-12 NSD is the PB-2000 Pro. Looking at the measurements, the PB-1000 Pro actually measures closest to it.
While pricing has gone up, performance has also increased, even on the entry level models.
