So newbie question, I just need a basic router to give me adequate wifi coverage over 2 floors covering 2300sqft, would this suffice? I had google nest wifi at my previous house, but somehow lost a point device when I moved.

It's worked extremely well for me so far, got me 490 Mbps on my 500 Mbps plan across a 3000sq ft home. The preferred connection feature really adds to it.

Is this better than the ax5000? Or just cheaper.

Honestly I'd probably still keep the Costco one for the return policy.

Couldn't resist getting one at this price. Folks that have this - I have to assume you can put this in AP mode? So that I can just add as an AP to my existing non Linksys router?
Of course! Pretty much any router can be used as an AP by disabling the DHCP server and plug in the rest of the network to the LAN port.

Can this work as mesh with multiple units to cover a larger area?

I paid $20 last week, but it's well worth it. Setting up was a little clunky, but it's been solid all week. Saves me $7/month from renting the Spectrum router.

Does this router supports forming a mesh if I buy multiple units? I saw some conflicting information online that it doesn't and it's a standalone router only. Can someone who is using it confirm? Thank you.
Yes. I have 3 working as mesh with factory Linksys firmware. I'm currently waiting for other firmware to develop and mature before I transition to one of them

The USB port is not enabled on the stock firmware. IDK if they will do something with it in DD-WRT because I've not followed the updates.

I'm a little unversed on 6 vs 6e; would a steam deck OLED's 6e radio be able to use the third band?
