Yes, Linksys LN1301 is a terrific router with 2 GB RAM and 1 GB of flash. Insane! I thought my Netgear R7800 with 512 MB RAM is pretty good until the specs on LN301 blows the R7800 out of the water and is a tri-band router as well!

With wireless mesh (instructions below), it's one heck of a deal and blows DECO AX5000 deal out of the water, imho.

EDIT: UPDATED instructions for enabling MESH (thanks to @rbtcordell for the original source):

1-Setup your Main router completely.

2-Plug your child node using the wan port to the main router lan port, wait for a solid purple light on the child node before proceeding

3-Log into your main router web admin.

4-Click on CA at the bottom right.

5-Click on Connectivity and CA Router setup.

6-Click on both Add Wired and Add Wireless nodes buttons. Wait for the Add wireless button to re-enable.

7-Click Done adding Child Nodes and then Apply.

8-Now the child node light should start flashing purple and turn into a mesh mode when it turns blue.

9-Disconnect Ethernet and wait for blue light again.

10-Move node to desired location.

This should be able upgrade from my 6 year old Orbi RBR50 main and satellite, correct? It's WiFi 5 but has mostly been solid its entire run time. Is the transmit power going to be similar if I install ddwrt or openwrt? Excited to be able to use third party firmware again. Brings me back to my wrt54gt days. Smilie planning to buy three and max out my house/yard. have a few weak spots in my backyard where I put my wireless thermometers in the bbq. thanks!!

FYI... Mine arrived this evening. Was very fiddly and had to ask Linksys for help.
2 hours later finally got it to work with my Specturn modem only by cloning the MAC address.
Interestingly, said the router was out of warranty, having started on 3/13/2023
Wonder if all of them are out of warranty. For $15 - $20 it's not a big risk.

I'm using the 2 previously bought as AP (backhauled over MOCA) to replace my old T-Model (Asus) AC1900. The WiFi signals are strong and the speed is amazing. Couldn't be happier.
I too have 2 ac1900. Is this worth the upgrade? Can we use wireless mesh on this?

I very much doubt any of these have warranty. They seem to be coming from Sohnen Enterprises, who seems to be loading the special de-Fortinet'ed firmware and packaging them back up. My units had a fair amount of dust visible in the crevices that I could see. I would not count on any support, warranty, or firmware updates from Linksys. Heck, Linksys doesn't even seem to provide firmware updates for retail units past a year or so if you're lucky. Take this as a, this is dirt cheap hardware to tinker with, if it happens to work ok for your use case great, but don't expect the kind of after-sale experience you get on a regular retail $200-$300 router system with a similar level of hardware.

Got the 3 I ordered from earlier set up. Had to use build 2540ea6 of OpenWrt. fd13d50 did not work for me and was causing a lot of confusion (too lazy to hook up serial right now to see why but it would never respond to ping, I probably missed something important). But at least it has the alternate partition so you can easily recover by switching back to the stock firmware after 3 failed reboots.

I'm just using them as access points.

Do you run them as extender or using ethernet backhaul with hard connection to each of the router and broadcasting the same SSID?
I'm using the higher 5ghz radio as an 802.11s wireless back haul to mesh the nodes together,

I've got some tmo AC1900s still trucking with AIMesh, but upgrading soon to fiber with 400 up/down. Will these make a noticeable difference?

$6 for shipping kills it for me. Not worth trying to get a trial just for this, when my current router is working okay. It's about 3 years old, so was thinking about having a backup, but oh well.
The additional $5 GEARUP4FALL code mostly cancels out the $6 shipping charge.
