7.1 surround on pc/mac when using usb. This is good I've seen headphone reviewers say surround over 3.5 is not real surround.

The microphone quality is good. I've heard my spouse talking through it on a game we play, and it was an improvement over his last headset. I like that the mic comes with a little foam cover to help keep down incidental noises that interfere with the voice quality.

Just wanted to comment on the quality. There is almost no better headset in terms of quality of construction, audio, microphone, comfort etc at this price point. There are incredible in almost every way and a major step up from the other budget Logitechs and wireless SteelSeries they replaced. Sure, there may be better headsets but not at this price point!
