I am happy to wear a 45mm watch on my 7-inch wrist, but these always get the complaints "Just wish it were smaller." You will get used to the size and weight differences if you give it a week. Either when sizing up or down.
The only time a dial is "too big" is if hits on back of wrist or won't clear a sleeve cuff, or restricts movement/ uncomfortable when flexing your wrist, IMO. Just the visual size shock should never prevent you from trying one. My sweet spot is 44mm but can do up to 46 comfortably in many styles.

YMMV with the quality, but I can say that all of my new Citizen watch purchases were flawless and I've had them for years with zero issues. Just be careful!
