Why would someone pay $20 for a single dimmable light? I couldn't understand.. is this ecosystem premium?

I guess because it has Bluetooth, and you can change its colors. It's not for me. I do like their efficient line they sell at Walmart. Less power draw means less heat which leads to less heat death. Our neighborhood has enclosed lights on mailboxes. People usually want bright lights in them, and I see them get swapped out frequently. If you have a low power draw bulb in an enclosed fixture it will last a lot longer. We use a 4w bulb, and we haven't had to change it in years.

It's for the ecosystem. I own 9 and it does feel overpriced to me, but they just work and never bug out.

I own/love the White 1100 lumen version so I picked up a few of these Ambience White 100w. Unfortunately I'm disappointed in them as I was expecting significantly greater output given they are rated 1600 Lumens. Both have similar brightness when set to a comparable temperature. The White Ambience would be beneficial if you prefer cooler whites.

I'd like to try the 100w 1600 lumen in the Soft Warm White variety to see if they are any brighter.

I have the Phillips 60-Watt Equivalent A19 LED Smart Wi-Fi Color Changing Smart Light Bulb powered by WiZ with Bluetooth (1-Pack), and I'm happy with it.

So, if you can live with the equivalent of 60-Watt, check it out.......

It's almost always on sale and is $4.92 right now.

Confirmed, bought the last 3 in my store in East LA yesterday for this price - I'm picky about white temperatures and don't care for RBG colors, so this is perfect. Noticed a few other bulbs and 2 LED strips were on clearance too.
As for why this brand, others I've settled on being a fan of this ecosystem. As a previous poster noted, they just work and never bug out - I almost never find myself grumbling and having to physically turn on a life because the system is unresponsive. Thanks OP!

Just got 4 at my store north of Tampa. The app showed 3 in stock at "see clearance price in store." Was super pleased to see 4 when I got there at the price indicated in this post.

They had other Hue clearance items but this was the best deal.

Hue products stand apart from everyone in performance and accuracy of color. Example: two bulbs bought 5 years apart will function identically.

Hue is in the same category as Apple and Sonos: premium. They just work.

however Sonos, as of late is on sh*t list because they f'd up their app.
