It's been a while since the last holiday season.

The release of College Football 25 has driven up console sales in July and Aug. Its inclusion on Game Pass is speculated to have increased sales of the xbox s. PS5 went up about 25% YOY, xbox x/s is up 48% YOY.

For that matter, it is normal for college kids moving into their dorms to drive up sales in a lot of home goods, laptops, and inexpensive / low end electronics related to entertainment, etc. Generally the parents are not willing to splurge and the kids want their stuff when they move in or shortly after and can't / won't wait until the next sale are depleting the used market

Would be all over this if cash but getting a credit is not appealing. I will say, that S is not as bad as people make it out to be. I have an X and it is great but for how cheap the S was, it does so much.
Yea essentially this. I have a series X if I want quality when I game. But there are also a ton of games I like to play multiplayer with my wife . So when we play 7 days to die I have a series S so I can play with her.

Anyone else buy the one from verizon at around $150? I'm thinking of trading mine in, it's still sealed. But for some reason I feel like I'm missing out if I get rid of it

Would be a nice $100 ish credit towards the ps5 pro in the future

Would be nice if GameStop gives us $400-$450 for our ps5 slims that they had a deal on a few months ago

The $$$ is in Game Pass for MS.. they don't care if you buy their consoles at all, and they are willing to sell them at a loss to get the subscriber base. Hell, I can play game pass on my monitor without even using a console or pc
What are using to run it?

I sold mine for $150 ish cash early this year and still don't regret it. I wanted and missed the disc drive. Been waiting forBRANDNEW $300 Series X deal to happen but nothing had come up since holiday 2023.

Series S is a very good game pass machine for the $$$ for non pc gamers

Perhaps a Fire TV or Samsung Smart TV. https://www.xbox.com/en-US/apps/xbox-app-for-tv

What am I missing here? Why would GameStop pay so much for these when they were widely for sale under $200 last holiday season?
There was a time a few fears ago when Gamestop was paying $72 for games that they sold for $60. What a fun time that was.

Do you have to trade in the controller too? I have an S that I haven't used since I got an X so this has me considering it.

Yes, it requires whatever came in the box to get the full trade value.

The Series S is a headache for developers for sure,
Not a dev but I am waiting for a cheap S to put in dev mode for emulation.
