I have to admit.I was not happy with the condition when I first received it. A few more scuffs than I would have cared for. And the propane regulator had some deep scratches in it. I expected a new looking costco return. However after pulling it apart the motor looked brand new. And the thing runs like a champ. Better fuel efficiency than I expected when running with propane.

I too purchased this last year from a similar deal and mine was like brand new. I used it for a roadshow event (Ganesh Festival) connecting to a propane tank and it worked out very well. There was some motor oil already probably from the reconditioning process but I had to add more.

Glad to hear that it worked out for you also. I understand the purchase can be a bit of a lottery with a few needing to return. But you won't come even close to anywhere near these specs for this amount of money.

Mine was like new motor, but exterior was scratched, faded stickers, even had some broken plastic end pieces and internal plastic damage. Customer support sent me the replacement parts and they looked brand new. Ran great when I tested it on propane. Good deal.

Same, mine showed up with a few scracthes but the motor and internals looked brand new and it didn't have any run time on the engine... although from the many threads on this I believe someone said they are reset when refurbished? idk....

Very solid buy for a back up gen for this price. I haven't had to use it but i did test it by running a portable AC unit and it worked great.

Yeah I heard that too. The rumor about them resetting the run time counter. I really hope that isn't true. Unless of course they actually did put a new motor in it. You would think that would be considered fraud. My motor was clean and shiny and showed no signs of use. So I really want to believe it was new.

A year ago I was able to pick up this gen for $300 shipped to the door. Mine showed up in pretty good condition. I didn't end up using it very much and sold it. Now I wish I still had it. This will end up being about 352$ shipped to the door. Im going to sleep on it. Keep in mind its probably always worth at least $350 on the used market.

Correction, this one is the same price as last year... I also baught the smaller non electric start one as well. That one was sub $300, not this one.

I just checked my purchase from last year, it was $399.99; there was an eBay coupon that brought the price down to $320 for this exact same model. Out the door with CA taxes it was $351 for me.

Are these truly factory refurbished or seller "refurbished"? I've often found that refurbished on eBay actually means "used - good".
