There are also suggestions out there that this glitch may have actually been an intentional trap by CVS to identify coupon shoppers who try to play the system, since the glitch was fixed much quicker than any other glitch has been fixed.
I don't know personally, as I didn't shop CVS on Sunday.

I have fewer than 10 contacts in my phone with an area code local to where I currently live. Strangely enough I have three contacts in my phone that use the same area code as me (not local to where I live) that were acquired after I moved here (and that I didnt know when I lived in that area code). So its possible that it was a random error, especially if it is a one off issue. your idea that someone heard you in line and just stole your number and used it elsewhere (via himself or proxy) isnt hacking, that is just plain theft. Hacking implies a different mode of aquiring your information and could potentially impact others. No matter how it happened it rally stinks for you and I am sorry for that.
Before I was told there were people on some of the sites suggesting it was intentional, I actually had mentioned to my friend that I wondered if it was intentional because I've never seen a glitch fixed that quickly. (The first post I saw about it on Sunday had a person reporting at 11am CST that the glitch was fixed.) I find it funny that I wasn't the only one thinking it might be intentional.
What surprises me is there are people on some sites who are using what appears to be a valid name talking about what they did or their account being closed. They could certainly be fake profiles, who knows.
Just purchase a CVS gift card then use the gift card online. send it to yourself.
