I put over 100 hrs into this game even though I own over 1000 steam games. Top 10 in my book. Open world authentic medieval 15th century environment. Not as refined as Fallout 4 but the second release seems hopeful. Jesus Christ be praised!
If you like history, this game is a must-have. It's absolutely fascinating, well-researched, and gorgeous. I found myself doing a lot of reading and research after seeing things in the game.
That said, it's closer to a simulation than an RPG. Combat is HARD. It's not a hack-and-slash and kill everything in sight kind of game. So, if you're expecting to run around like BG3, it's not that kind of game.
I never played the DLC, so I guess I'm picking up a duplicate and launching into it again. Dang it, there go my weekends.

One of my favorite games ever, hard to believe it's so cheap. Combat *starts* hard but gradually gets easier as you level up. You go from cowering in fear when someone looks at you, to looking to pick fights just for fun.
Awesome game if you're at all interested in the sequel. It's very much a immersive sim like a realistic Skyrim feel minus the fantasy elements. Its an exciting challenge.
Oh wow... $3.99 for the Royal Edition?
This game is an AMAZING medieval game with awesome combat and an amazing story. Combat can be extremely frustrating if you don't take the optional training near the town/castle. I'm really looking forward to KCD 2!
