I'm sure my ex wife bought this based on the title alone.

This was a good game. Got it for free from epic or some such and enjoyed playing it. Wish there was more or another

This was a PS Plus monthly a long time ago and I played it then, good game and worth $10 unless your queue is huge.

This is also currently on PC/XBOX on Game Pass for subscribers. This post reminds me that I've installed it but have yet to play. I've heard good things though.

I'm going to get a lot of hate for saying this but I hated Control. First of all, it uses checkpoint saving. This means that I continuously had to replay large parts of the game whenever it crashed, or when I died due to too many or too difficult monsters. Which brings me to the second reason why I hated the game - there was no way to set the difficulty level.
Imagine having to replay a difficult boss (which took me 30 minutes to beat or get to) because you took a wrong step or jumped wrong or because the game crashed. This happened to me all the time. The checkpoint saves were so incredibly bad that the game was virtually unplayable.
Besides all of the above, the game is like close to 7 years old, so slightly overpriced at $10 if you ask me.

A sequel is supposedly in development.

Also, Epic Store is disgusting. Expect them to do shady things on your computer. Don't buy it from there. I don't even install their launcher, and rather pay for the game elsewhere.

GoG is an excellent place to get it, and I wish I didn't already have this on my Xbox and on Steam.

I recently played through the entire Control Ultimate on GOG with no crashes. Also they added difficulty adjusters so you can have invincibility or one-hit kills etc if you so choose.

You absolutely can control the difficulty settings. Much more than many games.
I don't like autosave games but didn't find it a big issues for this game. Most of the time the reset for me wasn't very far back.

It has cool vibes/atmosphere and the dialogue and voice acting are surprisingly fresh and genuine for a video game, instead of cheesy.

That said I only made it like 1/3 of the way before the irritation from my inventory constantly being full and not knowing where to go next made me delete it from my computer in a cathartic rush of clarity.
