Do whatever you need to go 77" even if it means waiting. I moved from a 65" C7 OLED to a 77" G1 and the biggest benefit by far was the size jump (40% more screen area). The new features alone were not worth it. I'm now thinking of jumping to 83" once I see a new deal.

Typically TV deals for the current model peak around Super Bowl the following year. You might be able to find better after that, but they become a bit more YMMV.

What size room are you viewing your TV in? How far is your seat from the TV?

I don't think my living room is big enough to handle a 77", so 65" might be my best option.
