Warranty seals are illegal in the US. You can open it. It will not affect warranty. https://www.ifixit.com/News/74736...-elsewhere
I have purchased 3 refurb receivers from accessories4less in the last decade and every single one of them is still working and rock solid. Their warranty is pretty good too.
They should have said, we'll replace it immediately.

Has been this price for some time at accessories4less.com. Was even $1,349.00 a few months ago at the same place (when I pulled the trigger).

Have you dealt with CPS for warranty issues? I have a few items from A4L and have heard nothing but nightmare stories from people dealing with CPS and have been praying I never have to deal with them.

I literally bought this two days ago, I received it yesterday and when I was unpacking it, I heard something moving around inside. Sounds like a screw or a piece of plastic or something that's rattling inside and when you tip it and moves around.
I contacted them and they asked me to open up the cover, but the problem is that there is a warranty seal. So I'm waiting to see what they wanna do.

Have an Onkyo TX-RZ900... Not in the market to upgrade but maybe? While I do have to wonder/believe iif Onkyo over-stated the wattage, it is higher than the Marantz. No-doubt the Marantz is a great deal -- prob keep it in the back of my mind if/when current receiver craps out.

It's at least been $1499 since the beginning of the year.

A friend bought one at that price when Dirac had their sale back then.

His friend missed it and has been debating this or wait for the 4800 to come back for $1299 again.
He has been keeping an eye on this since then.

For a $100 he jumped on this, very much like the 4800 but you get Marantz sound signature!

If this was for new, man that would be very tempting over my 3800!
Biggest deterrent besides refurbished for me, having to get Dirac again and that darn pothole!

The silver one was $1,499. The black was $1,399 every time I looked at it, and at one point $1,349. Regardless, it doesn't matter much. Great unit - am very happy with it.

Warranty seals are illegal in the US. You can open it. It will not affect warranty. https://www.ifixit.com/News/74736...-elsewhere

Very strange request from a company. They should swap it out.

I'll wait for them to tell me first. They still hold the sole decision on replacement since I just bought it.
