After the recent app update Sonos experience is absolutely terrible. Do your research and understand what you're getting into if you're new to the ecosystem. Sonos of old days is no more - at least in my experience.

Just google it. I own around 20 sonos speakers spread over 9 different zones. After the recent update, volume randomly goes to 100%, music keeps playing while app shows nothing, missing features. Event the CEO of the company is taking about the software problems https://www.sonos.com/en-us/blog/...-sonos-app

I install stuff like this for a living and some of those Sonos systems work without any issue but there's more and more new stuff out of the box that won't sync together. The soundbar will work, the sub will act up and won't connect to create a surround sound system, while the speakers will lose connection. The app will play music and show nothing is playing, then will give an error saying that the system can't process request. There is a situation when the music will play for 5 sec and switch to the next song, another 5 sec and switch to the next, etc. I spend countless of hours on the phone with Sonos and every time I hear it's the wifi issue. I have replaced multiple wifis just to get the same issue a month later or 2. These days when one of my customers asks about Sonos I tell them to choose another system Wmii is a good option and it's half priced.

Good deal, however recent app "upgrade" has rendered many systems useless, lots of can't find your system, can't find zone.,.. I'm sure they will fix it, but might take a few months so be aware before you splurge. I have 5 full zones all with subs, arcs and ones…and also outdoors amps…new app f'd lots of things up

The May update is indeed a disaster, some people have been left with completely unusable systems, while some (myself included) have been unaffected)
this has also caused sonos to delay the launch of their new devices (i think revamped arc and other)
even the CEO had to comment. subreddit is full of stories, so it's a roll your dice with the purchase. new arc model will be released but no one knows when.
