That really is the problem with these.... should have never been $299 MSRP. They should have targeted $250 with sales for $175-200, but they went so far above almost all other open ear style headphones that it's so hard to justify these.

For whatever it's worth, I own these and absolutely love them. If I lost them today I would buy them again. My ears never hurt and they sound really good.

Have two pairs of the Shokz OpenRun Pro and love them - I've thought about these but agree with the MSRP being waaaay too high.

Got these new off offerup for 180 and though I'd never pay higher for these, I agree these are the best buds I've used. It connects too everything and just a few seconds to switch from tab, to phone, to laptop, then my odin and back. For open ears these sound amazing wih decent base and nice highs.

I see a lot of Bose earphones on offerup and Facebook marketplace at good price. I always wonder if they are knockoffs.

I was wondering the same thing. I bought two pairs from two different people from offer up at $120 and $130. Serial on the headphones don't match serial on case and neither match serial on box.
Spoke to Bose customer support and they verified both being authentic. That's perfect for me.
The fit took some getting use to, maybe a few days but once dialed in they are comfortable to wear all day. The sound sucks when driving but of course you are driving, they shine when you are grocery shopping, walking, working quietly or just relaxing at home.
The microphone, atrocious. People say, "you sound really far away" or "I can't make out what you are saying". I don't use them for phone calls which sucks because they would be the perfect buds.
I've heard the Shokz Open fit demo and they seem like a better sound and comfort but unless I have my own pair to compare I can't really tell you which to get.
If you use headphones for phone calls, these are terrible for that, the mic will pick up everybit of backround noise. For just listening, the sound is great.
They don't have a ultra version these are the first and only kind of have made open earbuds, the only ultra earbuds Bose have out is closed and go in your ear canal
