Project farm did a Blackstone oil analysis and testing on many different oil brands including Kirkland and Supertech. His conclusion was Kirkland and Supertech are basically the same oil and as good as the big boy brands.

The mobile 1 is only for 6 quarts. The costco one is 10 quarts.

Was waiting for the mobil 1 rebate this year. Looks like they may have stopped. I suppose I'll make the switch to kirkland
Pennzoil rebate offer still going on. $25. Got my rebate in less than 3 weeks.

It depends on your motor and how long you want your engine to last while avoiding major issues.
The car manufacturers' recommended intervals will get the car out of the warranty period of 5 years and 60K to 100K miles. That's all they care about.

But if you want it to last 200K+ , change it more often. $20 for an oil change is LOT cheaper than a new engine.

im on 205k miles in my 2013 scion tc, and I change my oil from 0-100k @ 10k at dealer. then I started doing 15k mile intervals at 100k. - amsoil signature. but their oil is too pricy now, so im just back to 10k intervals starting at 200k.

I got like 4 gallons of mobil 1 extended protection for like cheap awhile back on amazon. gonna use that all up

Keep in mind not all stores carry all weights. $64 for 4 pack shipped, roughly $1 per jug more FWIW. The combo pack (2)0W20 and (2)5W30 is especially helpful for my needs https://www.costco.com/kirkland-s...91506.html [costco.com]
$67.99 delivered for a 4 pack was definitely worth it to me.

You need to provide a source, there are blends, yes, but ZERO chance Mobil or Pennzoil are lying and selling blend as synthetic, I don't believe that. Too many legit experts would raise holy hell and show the data. I put Mobil One 0w-40 in my MB S550 and run long miles on it, including very hot Texas summer days, in traffic - it needs to be good.

Yeah, I would have to dig long and hard. I read it on Bob is the oil guy long ago. Something about its hard to prevent uneven molecule size in oils hence allowing something like up to 30% non synthetic in synthetic oil. This is going off memory. If I have the time, Ill link the source.

I can't do the oil change by myself. Are there stores that would change the oil with the oil I buy here?

Never went to autozone but the Advanced auto is behind their motor oil racks. You just walk back there to dump it yourself. They use to have a big container but reduced it to an oil barrel sized. You can dump up to 15 quarts but most of hte time htey don't even ask to log it.

your town or city may recycle oil at one of their facilities, I just find it convenient to go to the store.

I have experienced this on multiple occasions at my local pep boiz. I complained to their corporate and the guy personally called to apologize and reassured me they are supposed to take oil no excuses. Went back a few months later to the same exact location and same crap happened again with guy saying he would only do it if I bought it from them as they can only dispose as much as they bought.

Every one of them near me always says, "Sorry, come back another day. The container is full." It's ludacris.
