Warren. They also make the Walmart super tech oil too. It's good stuff especially for the price.

You can take it to most oil change locations for no fee. I just dropped off 3 5 quart containers at Walmart when I bought a few jugs of mobile 1. I also drop off at auto parts stores like O'Reilly, advance Auto parts, etc. please recycle the oil as it has large ecological impact if thrown out or disposed of improperly

So now we save $$$ on the engine oil, what about the filter? Where do you all buy oil filters from?
I used to buy oil filters for $6-$8 from the local stores like Pep Boys or Advance Auto Parts. When I went to the Advance Auto Parts two days ago, I was shocked. Filters are $16 now. I bought the filter from Amazon last year. So not sure when the price went up.
Amazon or Walmart. I grab Mahle filters for $10-12. I've been changing my oil for 20 years now and back in the early 2000s they were $4, it's just price inflation.

LMFAO the engineers ONLY care about getting you past the factory warranty and then you are on your own to pay for the $$$$ repairs or BUY A NEW CAR. Same as with "lifetime transmission fluid" You sound sooooo ignorant with your nonsensensical comment. Better check yourself. It's obvious you know nothing about nothing. Omg funniest thing i've heard all day.
So tell me why the car manufacturer would lie about the oil change interval? What's their benefit to have your engine for?

THEY DON'T PAY FOR THE OIL, YOU DO.

If what you say is true then show me the MILLIONS OF CARS THAT HAVE BLOWN ENGINES.

Even the oil companies say you can go longer on synthetic oil. THEY MAKE MONEY ON THE OIL THEY SELL. I GUESS YOU THINK THEY DON'T WANT TO MAKE MORE MONEY.

I buy Ford and Toyota OEM filters by the case, usually 10 or 12 at a time. Amazon should have them. Comes out to like $5-6 each

Dang - I just changed my oil 2 weeks ago after hoping to catch a price like this! I've been using Kirkland 0w-20 in my '07 5.7 Tundra the last 2 oil changes, and it has worked well for me. I used to run Mobil 1 until they quit having good rebates as often.

Just no reason whatsoever to do it for most cars. My Honda is about every 8K based on the maintenance reminder. With modern engines, failures related to oil breakdown are almost non-existent. I don't even know anyone who has had a internal engine failure on a modern car.

Almost every guy who tells me he would never go over 3,000 mile oil change in their car puts absolute garbage in their own body and will have a horrible quality of life by age 70. Spend that extra $ on a nutritionist!
You bring up a good point with the nutritionist. If I want a good quality of life at 70, do you think I should ingest 10w-30 or 5w-20 oil? How often should I drink the stuff? Every 2 miles or every 10?

Thanks for the info. I do have a murder of jugs waiting to unload too. Just checked with the costco tire guy and he said costco doesn't accept used oil anymore. Suggested a visit to the autozone down the street.
It's a federal law that every location that sells as retail inventory that contains materials that are harmful to the environment need to adopt a disposal program in place. That's why Home Depot have fluorescent bulbs disposal for the mercury in them and all other stores have disposal tanks for oils. Costco are just being cheap and exploiting legal loopholes to avoid this, claiming they are not retail seller.

now a days any brand will do fine, I've always used Mobil1 fully synthetic since the mid 80's, my 1987 toyota truck still running strong with original engine, every 6 months or 5k miles interval for me, Costco or walmart sale price.

I wish Costco would do oil changes at the warehouse.
Would save me so much money.
I drive a 7 year old VW Passat which isn't even a luxury car but I have to use synthetic oil.
You may be confusing luxury cars using premium fuel with synthetic oil... Most modern engines are now using synthetic oil no matter if they're luxury or budget vehicles

If you have a Menards nearby I usually get the Purolator ONE's for $7.50 with 11% rebate or if you are a stocker like me wait for their 15% instant off bag sale usually once a year.

walmart full syn oil change with oil filter is $40-60 too
And all the time it takes to go to Walmart and wait around for them to finish. Then they put your oil cap on with a impact wrench for good measure.

I can change my oil in 30 minutes.
