FYI - The leading consumer magazine, who should not be named because they sue if you do and keeps their ratings behind a paywall rates Chikara knives extremely high. Near the top, similar to Zwilling Professional and Wushof Classic, but much less money.

I own both Zwilling Professional S set and a single Chikara slicing/carving knife. I don't see Chikara at the same level as Zwilling like CR did - the Professional S Chefs knife seems sharper and holds an edge better, and is my go-to.

I like the Zwilling better (but again, Zwilling professional is much more money)

Ginsu knives get knocked a lot but they've always impressed me. The 8" serrated one from the 1980s with the brown handle is outstanding for slicing through cheese without binding, and are easy to find at garage sales and such since they made a zillion of them.

The Chikaras are good value for the money, but I too wouldn't agree that their quality is comparable to the top line German knives.
