Spec not bad - adding 32G ddr4 and 1TB SSD, it goes to $365 -- still good price.

I got a i5-12450H loaded mini PC for $270 - so this is not a big enough upgrade,

Wish they would have replaced the SATA with second M.2.

Yeah, same thought here as well. I would really like a mini pc (even if it's slightly larger than this) with 4 or more m.2 so I can use it as a home Virtualization server. I would like to run bunch of VMs and don't want to use external storage…

Be aware the barebones is missing two items: 1. Windows Pro, 2. NVMe active cooler. If you get the addons you get those (at least when I purchased mine). I have Win license, however this thing can get hot so I had to get an active cooler for the NVMe. The other thing is it uses a non Intel Wifi/Bt chip and I had to change it because the drivers were not stable. I was using BT only, but regardless I had to drop $20 for an Intel chip. Now this is last year, a bunch may have changed. Also when it heats up, the fan is like a jet engine. It's not a Mac Mini quiet.

In all its powerful, but I feel the cooling solution is a gen back, and the wifi/BT they should have spent the extra $4 for an Intel vs the junk MediaTek.

Also and this is just stylistic, but I put these concerns in minisforum review and they never posted it, so it seems they are not immune to censoring real input.

What kind of active cooler did you get to fit inside that tiny case? Also, is the i7 processor superior to the i9 that is available?

It does not include the RAM or NVME. The description indicates the slots available.

From aliexpress, I looked at the spec and they had them on there. Maybe I paid $15. I can't comment on processor but I will say I trialed H.265 and AV1 sw encoding on it and my Mac mini m2 pro and this was about 20% faster for like 1/3 the cost. The only difference per se was the super loud cooling. So a higher i9 may get thermally throttled earlier on this, but I do not know that for sure.

Too bad they didn't use an AX210 which I put in but its better than the MediaTek junk. I wonder when they did this ECN. The post says bt 5.2 and 2x2 MIMO which is the spec for AX210 not AX200, so is that confirmed? Doesn't matter to me since I already did the swap but it was sure a big problem and Minis support was no help.

keep in mind if you want to do ESXI, you have to disable the E cores, so you got 6 Performance cores to play with. and it is 2.5GE so it is likely RT8125, you need a esxi customizer for that.
but otherwise this is a good product, would be interested in getting one if this is on amazon for faster shipping

The e-cores should be fine with Proxmox. It may need some microcode updates from Intel, but the current Linux kernel and Proxmox currently support it.

"H" CPU, meaning half the performance of a non-H CPU. : )
