A lot to like here IMO given Matter and Apple Home compatibility, as well as 25% back if you have an Amazon Prime Visa.

I've bought two of these. Neither one would work with HomeKit. They worked fine in the TP-App but never could get them to connect in Apple home. Reset, tried more than one, created new "homes" etc, all to no avail.

Seemed like maybe a few others in Amazon reviews had the same issue, but I must be in the minority.

Where is the 25% back with the Prime Visa? It does not show up for me at checkout.

Just a note that these are matter over wifi not matter over thread for those that care. It's an overly complicated point but that's matter for you.

I believe some/all of these Tapo smart switches require a Matter-compatible hub to be accessible in HomeKit. That'd be something like an Apple TV or a HomePod.

For me it shows in the Payment Section when checking out using my Prime Visa, there is a drop-down for "Additional Reward Details".

EDIT: Link to TP-Link Kasa and Tapo devices with additional Amazon Visa rewards:

I have a matter that needs to be addressed.

I just purchased a few smart plugs model P125m from tapo and I learned that it's matter over wifi, with no thread support.

My goal was to have a more 'future proof' smart plug, as my previous smart plugs died due to a complete app dependency.

Is matter over wifi as much "future proof' as matter over thread?

If so, I may be returning!

Just received and installed mine yesterday, works flawlessly. Using it with google home and can tell it exactly what percentage to set the brightness at. My only concern is that the lowest setting is 1% brightness don't know if that may be stressing out my lights. Although I typically just do on/off and rarely adjust the brightness.
