It means what it says. You and companion can fly anywhere together from Jan through March 2025 if you book a solo RT flight before 9/5 and take that solo trip before 11/20/24.

Initial flight to earn the companion pass has to be booked between 9/3-9/5 and that flight flown before 11/20. Once that is done, the companion pass is added to your account and you can designate someone to be your companion on future trips.

Then, if you decide to book a flight between the dates of 1/6 and 3/6 of 2025, your companion flies free* with you.

"Earlier this year, we launched Cash + Points, giving our Customers extra flexibility to make their points go further. And now, for the first time, Members can use their Rapid Rewards points, a combination of cash and points, or other eligible forms of payment to book qualifying flights that count toward this Companion Pass promotion." Can you pay with flight credit? I just booked flights last week and want to cancel and rebook to get this promotion. Anyone know if I can use flight credit from the canceled flights?

yep. i just booked a one-day turnaround trip using flight credits. well....i had to pay the balance using a cc and i have a 10% chase offer.

Very interesting, I booked a roundtrip flight from SJC to Denver for November last month for $121.96. When I check the same flight today it's $187.96, if I cancel, get the credit, and rebuy I'll have to put out $65 more. But when I click change flight and rebook it, it says + $0 so both legs of the flight. I wonder if that change still qualifies as a booking.
