Apparently, you have to take these off every time you want to replace the battery. Screw that

There's a reason these are $5 because it's a solution to a problem that doesn't exist.
Straps like these are actually handy. If you're playing something that doesn't require constantly using both controllers, you don't need to grip them all the time, but they stay where you need them. Like if I'm playing poker, 90% of the time I'm not doing anything with my left hand, so I can just relax it instead of continuously grasping the controller.

Right........poke-r with only right hand Wink

jk aside, the OEM one already comes with straps.
They come with wrist straps, which would leave the controller hanging down from your wrist, not securely against your palm like these do.

This. Also battery cover can be removed and one could make a "battery flap" with only three carefully-placed slits. No need to take off the whole thing when battery is low and replacing battery is even faster than stock.

Think of long-play scenarios when you are in a pvp game and you have only a few seconds to hot swap a battery while respawning.

I have a hand injury that I can't properly grip hard with my right hand. Is it necessary while using this or another other optiona?

Hand straps would probably help you, so for $5 I'd give these a try.

$5 or not, the Kiwi Design ones are superior.

There are many games where you need to throw things (bombs, axes, etc ) and you must let go of your grip fingers. So having these let's you do that without the worry of letting go of your controller.

Even if you have the wrist strap, you don't want to lose control of your controller in the middle of a fight.
