I have to disagree with you there. I have 64 devices connected to four LN1301s in a router + mesh network and performance has been decent and stable for nearly a week now. I have 16 IP cameras streaming 1080p video 24/7 as well. (Half of them via Ethernet bridging with the mesh nodes)

Mind you that I only have 100Mbps Spectrum internet but I do stream/direct play 4k videos from a Plex media server to several Amazon Firestick 4k devices without issue. Overall IMO you would be hard pressed to find such relatively decent hardware for so cheap; especially a Mesh network.

It wasn't all smooth at first mind you. I kept getting disconnects; especially with the streaming IP cameras. But I discovered by disabling Express Forwarding all my streaming issues went away. (CA>Connectivity>Administration>Express Forwarding)

I'm guessing that Cisco's/Linksys' proprietary Express Forwarding routing protocol was causing havoc with the IP cams streaming capabilities. Also, disabling Node Steering seemed to make things more stable as well; mesh nodes no longer disconnect from the router when Node Steering is disabled. (CA>Wi-Fi Settings>Advanced>Node Steering)
User feedback across two years indicates better performance with all three off. Express forwarding seems to negatively affect streaming. Node steering interferws with Google Home and Apple Homekit. Client steering slows connection down if you have more than one router.

Of course, user experience can vary so feel free to experiment. if the routers are giving you problems, try turning these features off and see if it works
Still waiting for mine to ship from the last $15 deal. Just checked and Woot says SEPT 13. Hasn't even shipped yet.

It's not a deal if you never receive it.

How good are these after a power outage? Will it automatically reconnect once the power comes back on or do I have to go around power cycle all the ones I make a node?

Guess I came in late, 9/12. Not sure why a product would take so long to ship out.
And mine says 9/18 lol...

Is this a good upgrade from TP-link AC1750?
I have 300Mbps internet speed and I replaced my AC1750 with this Linksys thinking it would be an upgrade. I checked standing next to the router with my phone, with my Laptop and checked again one floor away it doesn't give even half the performance of my old AC1750; more than the internet speed the latency to bring up the webpage was like really bad.

Finally, AC1750 was consuming 4 watts and Linksys oscillates between11 & 12 watts. 8 watts more may not be a big thing, but running 24x365 I wasn't interested. Switched back to my old router.

It looks like I am the only one complaining about the performance of this router, so it might be that I got a bad one, so take my response with a grain of salt.

I bought 6 from woot at this price (plus $6 shipping) and I am tempted to buy more just because it's cheap 😭edit: idk why the thumbs down, but I'm not a reseller, just a nerd who likes good deals - I'd probably just gift them to my parents and in-laws, configuration and everything
lol I get it. However when they had this same product on the market for 15-20x the cost years prior. And had the shotty performance and customer care.
It's a tough pill to swallow. I had spent countless hours troubleshooting my network bc of this companies crappy firmware and lack of support.

I'm with you. These are horrible. It may be okay with small number of devices and someone that doesn't monitor and look for good performance.

I bet more. These are likely returns and old warranties just recycled with a new case!

Any experience with Woot returns when linked on Woot to Amazon?

Don't have a good feeling about this. 17 Sept ship date at Woot. I expect it to work fine as a standalone properly as everyone claimed!

Anyone upgrade to the current OEM FW?

Just tonight I hooked up the one I got from Amazon (since I am STILL waiting on my 2 from Woot). I can confirm that it's coverage is not as good as the Asus RT-AX86S that it replaced. That said I am hoping that two meshed might provide better coverage than my Asus (but I will miss the AiProtection feature).
You literally replaced what is pretty commonly considered the best AX router on the market (S is a little worse than U, but till top consumer model) with a $15 router and are disappointed? Seriously?

As a counterpoint to everyone who is trashing these. I pay for 500 mbps from spectrum and i swapped out my advanced WiFi 6 router they gave me with one of these and hooked up one child node running stock firmware. Somehow I literally get 600 mbps now 100 over what I pay for according to ookla. I have a third on the way as well. Now I also can hardwire in to the nodes which is a great benefit.

I plan on doing more with a wireless backhaul, or using bridge mode/access point once I read some more about them.

Does anyone know what my best course of action would be to make sure I have the most optimal setup. My parent node is located on one end of my apartment and one child node would ideally be located in my sunroom which is on the other end. Apt is 800-1000 sq feet and parent node is approximately 60-75 feet away. I figured the third node would be in the middle somewhere. I have been reading about wireless backhauls and bridge mode and access points but I'm still unsure which is the best option for me. No ethernets at all besides near the parent node.

I am having two of these coming and would like to set up as a secondary mesh for cameras. I also have eero mesh 6+ with 3 units. I still have in the box the eero 6 pro set that I got on sale. But I want to extend more into the garage for the Tapo cameras. They can seem sensitive at times and do not always provide notifications to my phone. Are these any good in mesh mode and do you need 3? Thoughts?
