And just to add the Z wave control did not work for me using the Ring controller. It successfully gets added to the controller but does not report correct status or allow lock/unlock via Z wave. Could be a defective piece but from what I read this unit has Z wave issues for a very high percentage of users
Does anyone know if this is Z-Wave Plus S2 compatible, or only the older ZWave protocol?
Deal's dead but I'll chime in as I own four of these: there is a cartridge that plugs in to the board above the batteries that adds wireless support. You can swap it out for different wireless networks.
Only problem I had was an install at a very sunny location. The sun in the summer would heat up the lock and the resulting expansion of materials would set off the tamper alarm. It's unfortunately an ongoing issue with no ability to disable the tamper alarm. Had to replace the lock with something else.
I had these working with a WiFi module and battery life was trash: 7 weeks average out of 4xAA. Swapped for newer z wave and now it's more like 6 months.
