I have two of these and they are next to impossible to reliably connect. Save yourself time and frustration and pass

I bought one of these a couple years ago. The app and software are terrible. I run it at night and a quarter of the time I'll find it sitting off in the middle of room. It randomly loses connection to the base and hard powers off - buttons and app do nothing. You have to pick it up and put it back on the base then reset it just to get it to respond again. Also, it sometimes clears the map. Avoid.

I bought two of these at this price and have been testing the first one downstairs and I'm not getting any of the issues you guys are talking about. I have strong Wi-Fi so it should never be in a spot where it disconnects. At $60 for a vacuum with lidar I think it's a pretty good deal. I bought two robot vacs made by greenworks last year about this time and they definitely did the job but they did not have lidar so they bounced off everything. But for 60 bucks I think this is a steal.

FYI, this is more about your wifi coverage. It doesn't connect to the base in any way besides the IR that helps it line up while backing in. The base is pretty simple.

I've never had another brand, but I've used the previous Nova model for a few years now and overall like it. I've had to do some maintenance on it a handful of times and I'm thinking about replacing the battery soon as the runtime has shortened, but overall, it's been pretty easy to fix/clean and there's plenty of cheap aftermarket parts for the wear components.
