Mido is a Swiss company that is part of the Swatch group which includes Omega, Longines, Rado, Hamilton, Tissot, Blancpain, among many others. If you haven't heard of those brands then stick to your apple watch.

Lets see if the mods will leave one of my posts alone....

Unboxing video if you want to watch it in the flesh.
https://youtu.be/29nlv8icYbU?si=s3rmfAOWuKBlCBwl

I find this to be a great buy, but google says it can be had on ebay for $350 from semi reputable merchants, so the fact this is legit Ashford for $299 does makes this a compelling buy to me....

Comes with two straps - both are hideous.
Would recommend an immediate replacement with a 22mm quick release rally leather strap from anywhere.

Key notes: Swiss history brand, rock solid ETA movement, sapphire crystal, color matched window, dial size is ok but at 42mm for a "dress" watch, I'm of the opinion with a substantial watch face and black coating this will wear LARGE.

The orange on black dial looks awesome to me.

Edited to remove L2L as I do not know it.

Football band is kind of cool. Not sure if it's something I'd like to walk around with every day though lol

Show me a reputable brand with Swiss movement and sapphire for less?

I am not going to debate japanese movement versus swiss movement, so if that's your thing, you do you. I have no issues with that, but just trying to level the playing field.
I remember back in the day, there used to be a constant flow of front page entry level swiss autos, even before the apple watch. This deal reminds me of that, haven't seen many in a long long time. The only thing potential buyers should consider is that the night visibility might not be great. Other than that, this is a great deal and everyone saying otherwise is uninformed or trolling.

It wouldn't be easy. Glycine maybe.

If you don't like the football strap, they do have others that are only a little more expensive but still same good Mido quality.I think these 2 are a great price:$351 after code Mido10 (It's $338 at Jomashop but that's not an authorized retailer)https://www.ashford.com/mido-m0254073606100.html$432 after code MIDO10https://www.ashford.com/mido-m0059301106080.htmlI wonder where OP got that discount code and if there are other codes for the above watches other than Mido10 for 10%.
That stainless model is so tempting.

Glycine is trash compared to Mido. I have not seen this particular watch in person, but I tried out a Mido Ocean Star in a store and it was amazing quality. I am not sure exactly what is the "Multifort" series about. The Glycine I tried out was so cheap in quality.

For those that don't know, Mido was originally a Spanish brand and thusly is pronounced with a Spanish pronunciation (say mEEdo) which translates to "I measure."

I have a 14 year old Mido Multifort, reference 8810, with the Valjoux 7750 movement. It has been such a great watch, especially for the price. Both Mido and Hamilton are great value propositions in the Swiss automatic world imho.

The Swatch Group is the largest watch company in the world and employs about 31,000 people in 50 countries. The group owns the Swatch product line and other luxury brands, including Blancpain, Breguet, Certina, ETA, Glashütte Original, Hamilton, Harry Winston, Longines, Mido, Omega, Rado, and Tissot.

Wow I thought I was going prove you wrong. I thought Hamilton was the only one that was still American. Was wrong. Thanks for the post.

I'm surprised Ashford is still around. Remember their crazy coupons from the early .com era? I probably got a dozen nice watches from that time with those crazy early days of big discounts!

Who is MIDO and why does he think his watch is worth $1200.
Lots of their watches are at that retail price point.

This watch uses a Swiss movement. The Mido Caliber 80 goes up against Powermatic 80 or an ETA 2824. Great pick at this price point if you can pull off the colors!

I thought this watch uses Powermatic 80. Most of their Multifort watches uses that.

I think they use Powermatic on Ocean Star but pretty sure Multifort uses Caliber 80. I would put Caliber 80 a tad above Powermatic 80, especially because it's made specifically for Mido

I was going by Ashford website which said Mido Calibre Powermatic 80, but maybe that's what you are talking about.

For instance this watch:
