There is no "best" stud finder out there, because different stud finders excel at different things. This one is easy to use, its display is intuitive, and (most importantly) it gives more consistent/reliable results than any other stud finder I have used.
But it has two big limitations: it can't detect hot wires, and it can't distinguish between metal pipes and studs.
So I use this as my primary stud finder, but verify its findings with another stud finder to look for hot wires and pipes before doing anything.
Here's a review of some of the differences for this model (m210) vs the lower end models such as AC live wire detection/etc . . . it also demonstrates how Franklin Stud Finders work differently from the usual products from other vendors: https://youtu.be/CFxwJckrzK8?si=qNnYziVLTNCpq2VD

Did you call or you went to your local store? I think the ones that are being cleared since last year are the yellow ones.
I called my local store (DFW) and gave them the item # (7000500)--they said they didn't have it and the closest store with it in stock was in Louisiana . . .
Besides the detection of electrical, the higher number of sensors just lets you see with more detail where the edges of the stud (or obstruction) lie. You can still figure that out with the 7 sensor model by moving the finder left/right over the edge area to see where the lights come on.
These are great btw. I know the differences because I lost one, bought the 13 sensor version to replace it, then of course found the original.
I've had the prior to versions of this stud finder. When I saw this again at Costco I was wondering how they could possibly improve it. But they did. Just as credo says, it helps you delineate where the stud is much better. So I like it and I kept it.
I have not seen this one in yellow anywhere. I feel like the last three versions are very similar in the same shade of green.
As for the inexpensive and popular yellow magnetic stud finder, I appreciate the powerful magnet, but it just doesn't give me a lot of assurance as much as these do.

This has been the normal price at Costco for months. I have this one and the max with 35 LEDS. The max is nice because higher detail and can detect deeper (ex two layers of Sheetrock) but has no live wire detection for some reason so this one (7000/x2100/m210) is still my go to.

It does have live wire detection. Says so in the description 👍
I'd never seen those Hart models before. The packaging cites the same patents which Franklin has otherwise used to maintain their market advantage. (They're the Valentine One of stud sensors)
I'm wondering whether Hart is truly an independent licensor of the patents or if they're simply a subsidiary set up to sell at a competitive price point below the retail and warehouse club options typical for Franklin.
It's more accurate than my Zircon stud finder, but I use the zircon for wires and other peril. it's smoother and glides better on my walls than the Zircon. Used for basic mounting like shelves and TV where I know no pipes.

Because as far as I know, it only works on metal studs and screws/nails.
Walmart's Hart has knock-offs of those for $19 and $28:

Good luck!
Jon
Does not work at all with double sheetrock walls (new build interior garage door wall for me).
Used this on normal 5/8 walls to hang pegboard, totally fine.
