There is no "best" stud finder out there, because different stud finders excel at different things. This one is easy to use, its display is intuitive, and (most importantly) it gives more consistent/reliable results than any other stud finder I have used.

But it has two big limitations: it can't detect hot wires, and it can't distinguish between metal pipes and studs.

So I use this as my primary stud finder, but verify its findings with another stud finder to look for hot wires and pipes before doing anything.
$19.97 at my local Costco.
Here's a review of some of the differences for this model (m210) vs the lower end models such as AC live wire detection/etc . . . it also demonstrates how Franklin Stud Finders work differently from the usual products from other vendors:

Are the magnet style ones no good?
Magnets are great at finding screws and nails in the drywall. Whether or not the screws or nails are in the middle of a stud, or even in a stud at all, is a whole 'nother question.

This stud finder is made by Precision Sensors. I am not sure why it says Franklin. They are not the same company.
Precision Sensors is Franklin's white label brand that allows them to sell at different price points at different retailers while maintaining higher price for their yellow-and-black units--same product/same USA-made/same everything as the yellow and black devices . . . attached is a picture from a Reddit user who received one of these Precision stud finders from Costco--it shipped directly from Franklin. Just like Duracell and Starbucks coffee are reportedly sold under the Kirkland brand although I can't vouch for the latter...

It says right on it that it detects wires though

Got lucky enough it was on warehouse clearance and purchased for $20. They had an exhibit on display for shoppers to try it. I was impressed! Had to get one!

Have had this for years. Great stud finder and easier to use than any other I've owned.

I love my Franklin M150 of this style. It doesn't have a built-in bubble level like this one does, I just stick a mini level on the top of it.

A Costco review criticized it for having "no suction", so I don't trust all the 1-stars there. As much as I'd like to buy the Costco one I don't need it, but if you don't have one I highly recommend it, it gives you the stud dimensions right in front of you, very helpful.

The stud finders that are magnetic are good at finding screws, not studs. If you have a spec home (hastily built by lowest bidder subcontractors) then you should not trust that the drywall screws are actually screwed into studs.

It finds studs in places where I know for a fact that there is nothing and nothing on top of a stud. Or if I run it back and forth over a stud, it lights of differently on each pass.
Studfinders exist in various types because they do truly all have their challenges. One scenario I'd wonder if you'd found in your home is extraneous studs or blocking, sometimes placed in interior walls as if the builder was just getting creative with lumber? (As opposed to intentional use of blocking in places like bathroom showers or around bathroom toilets)

I have just such a scenario between the two doors of a walk-in closet - and it wasn't as if the builder was trying to frame a window there - and this configuration has indeed driven my multi-sensor stud finder crazy in certain orientations.

Good luck!

As others have mentioned, I have the m150 from harbor freight and it rocks. If you've had the cheap Zircon stud finders that beep, this type from Franklin is a huge upgrade.

It's news to me that there are devices out there to find the studs.

And I have already said in multiple replies to others that my experience is that is does not work consistently or precisely, to the extent that its results cannot be trusted for hot wires. Perhaps read the thread before posting?

You can ignore my experience with using that stud finder and believe the sales blurb, but I am not the only person that has issues with its wire detection. It is excellent as a stud finder though.
