They are a T-Mobile MVMO but they are trying to push traffic off to their own hotspots - and two major carriers are starting to test using those hotspots as well. It feels like the same coverage as with Mint. I think I've seen their "unlimited" is 30 gigs high speed, if that's important to you research it a bit.
They have a scheme where you can earn MOBILE crypto for sharing your location with them via their app. Obviously the crypto is variably priced when when I calculated my earnings last week it was about $0.57/day. You can apply your crypto to your monthly bill if you want.
Love Helium Mobile.
Its faster than my home internet and coverage is gret.
SOMEHOW its faster and the coverage is better than the MVMO on Tmobile I already paid for though another company.
The mobile tokens are a bonus After selling them my bill is about $5 this month.
NOTE - They have had a free month forever I doubt this is going away anytime soon
I use this on one of my phones. If you redeem their mobile token monthly, then you don't have to pay for their service. Only had an issue once with 2FA when I switched phones. If you don't use their token to pay, its ~21 a month with fees/taxes.
Husband and I have been using them since beta so our bill stays at only $5 a month. No complaints so far. The crypto thing you can always just disable it if you don't want to use it (it does drain the battery). But we've actually earned quite a bit when we cashed out during the price hike end of last year
This is the same crypto company that tried to scam people with their iot wifi coin machine. Let them and their investors lose their money. They deserve it.

Ditto I was a Beta tester as well and the grandfathered $5 is awesome. Here is a fun fact if you buy a Mobile Hotspot and put it in your house you also earn Mobile Tokens for all your data transferred thru it at a rate of $0.50/GB

Been on the carrier for the better part of a year now. We have a total of 12 lines in the (extended) family. Their plan is a solid offering in the prepaid space. It can be free or pretty darn close if you earn tokens with mapping rewards.
I've also deployed a few hotspots in public locations. Current ROI on those is about 6 months, but can be less if you have more usage. Mine overall is minimal currently.

What was your methods of gettig them into a public place? Is it a business you own or did you ask people?

Is their Hotspot plan capped at 30 gb high speed? At what usage is the hotspot throttled? Just curious about it.
'm not letting them put a 25 hold on my card. screw them. too many other free fish in teh sea
I just signed up for my wife. The sign up process IS kind of intrusive(multi-step ID verification & didn't realize that they hit your bank account with a $25 hold....at least I HOPE it's just a hold, since I used the code for a free month!!!)

Family businesses. Having a relationship is obviously much easier then cold approaching a business with your offer to setup a hotspot. I personally haven't tried it
