Nest is so annoying that you cannot granularly control anything. When switching which sensors to use, it only allows you to choose from 4 chunks of the day. Just let me actually control my house!

Remote sensors were the main selling point for Nest for me. But after about a year, 2 of my 6 have gotten unusably flaky. Temperature readings are way off - one of them had gone mysteriously offline and this post reminded me to reset it. That worked, but its temp reading is again almost 10 degrees high. There's no calibration process, I've spent hours searching for fixes.

4 sensors is workable for us for now, but when more fail, I will be shopping for a whole new system. This is our first smart thermostat, and we should have gone to that sooner. But the Nest brand has been a lot more frustrating than it should be.

They were $10 at Home Depot a few weeks ago. You may be able to find them at some stores still.
