I'd be interested in this deal if I didn't lose the blood oxygen sensor functionality in the process

They are spiteful and don't want to pay the company that owns the patent so they turned off the feature. Remember if it doesn't make money for them, they don't want it.

$175 trade in for Apple Watch Series 8 worth upgrading to Series 10 or better off waiting for sales when it drops down to maybe ~$300-$330 by the holidays?
Series 8 has a functioning oxygen sensor and the 10 doesn't, my vote would be to save money and not bother. For the average person, very little practical difference from the Series 4-10 other than slight speed and bezel improvements, and the always on screen. The health sensors are what make the difference to me, and since Apple FAFO with Massimo they're removing one of the few killer features. Until glucose monitoring and/or BP monitoring comes to the watch, about all Apple is doing is case color and face changes.

Can someone please tell me if Apple refreshed the Apple Watch SE? I am so confused. It's sold out everywhere and on the Apple website it says its available 9/20, but it does not look like they are releasing a new SE so what gives??

Damn, you think they'll let it slide if you trade in the cellular version but select WiFi?
That's what I was thinking 🤔

Most people would probably get more usefulness out of a newer battery and faster watch then a blood oxygen sensor. I almost never used the feature over the years.

Nope it's the same SE watch. They just changed the default bands and those new band colors aren't available until 9/20/24. So it's a band thing that's causing it to be a preorder

Does anyone know if you have to trade in the band as well?

From my past experience trading in, they only request the casing itself and not the band.Big Grin

I never use the blood oxygen monitor. And I don't support patent trolls. Apple is doing the right thing and turning this off unfortunately, the customer loses, but I would rather get the upgrade

I'm getting an offer for $165 for my Apple Watch Series 7 (45mm), which is $60 more than what Apple is offering. I think I'll go this route.
Where?

Yes, Best Buy is giving more trade in money for a GPS than GPS+Cellular version for certain models. I have a GPS+Cellular Watch 7 and Best Buy is only offering $100, while the GPS only version is getting $150. I don't know if that's a mistake or not, but it does seem weird.

If your series 1 is unopened and still in the box, or if your series 1 is the gold edition model, then your watch is worth a bit. If it's not, then it's not worth anything and you wont be able to trade it in. Even Apple wont give you money for it and they don't accept it as a trade in. Series 1 is obsolete.
