They are spiteful and don't want to pay the company that owns the patent so they turned off the feature. Remember if it doesn't make money for them, they don't want it.

How? My understanding is the function stays if the watch had the function when it was purchased.

Not exactly sure why but my Series 9 is a different model MR8Y3LW/A and doesn't appear on Best Buy's trade in list at all. Anyone happen to know if they'll still take it?

Well duh. If I don't get paid at work I stop showing up. They are not a charity.

By the way you can get a blood oxygen sensor for basically free, likely more accurate than the Apple Watch anyway so realistically it's not a big loss.

Yes. I've done it before. Signed up for BBY membership to get 60 day returns on an appliance, decided to keep it after 60 days and then canceled the membership. They refunded on pro rata basis.

apple had to create new model numbers due to blood oxygen issue- they will still take it.

BTW for the watch 7 and 8 you can get $100 giftcard or $110 trade in!

They're advertising sleep apnea detection which would require the BOS so I doubt it's going away

So, Best Buy is only offering $300 for models with the blood oxygen sensor and isn't accepting trade-ins for those without, specifically the LL models, not the LW ones.

That said, if the Best Buy rep handling the trade-in doesn't double-check the model number, you might get away with it. But isn't verifying the model the whole point of this trade-in process?

I'm curious—has anyone traded in or shipped a device where the LL model was required, but they submitted the LW model instead, and everything still went through smoothly?
