Lots of great info but also lots of condescending chaff that is meaningless like the first post in this one.
If you want something for going further and a more aggressive riding position, and slightly better components, the Wabash is good, too.
Don't buy bikes based on best deal: buy on use-case.
You can't beat $1200 for the Crosscore. It's an insane price for that much bike.

They all have different use cases. The Wabash is drop bar and costs more. If you want a great bike that's comfortable to just cruise around town or commute, the Crosscore is great and beautifully priced.
If you want something for going further and a more aggressive riding position, and slightly better components, the Wabash is good, too.
