The individual circuit view has really helped me find some major drains in my house that I don't think inwould have found with a whole house solution. Something like a dieing refrigerator compressor suddenly using twice as much energy wouldn't show up on a whole house but is noticeable on single circuit tracking.

I know nothing about this company, but if their products are only available at Aliexpress, Amazon, and eBay, that's probably not a good sign.

Also, the Vue can be flashed with esphome which is nice if you're in that or the HA ecosystem.

Do we really need energy tracking per circuit? Can we not directly 'read' from electric meter outside using RF or espCAM?

This is about average for no name brands, I've been watching for a deal on these for a while.
$200 is where the more reviewed brands sit.

At $150 I'd take the gamble with a no name personally.

This is just a bunch of clamp meters, if you want to be really safe all you have to do is shut off the feed to your house before taking the panel cover off.
I'd just do it hot but I'm not scared of 480v either.

The esphome flash was easy to do if you know how to solder. Instructions on the web are very thorough.

Isnt Vue depends on cloud? Or is it complete local? If it's complete local, how does it communicate to HA via wifi or zigbee or something similar which requires hub?
You have to do the esphome modification

Looks totally safe. Your inspector will be pleased
They're clamping probes.

If your inspector doesn't understand this, you need a different inspector.

Meross is very well known among the smart home community.

If you don't trust products that don't have a big box retail presence, you're only limiting yourself.

EDITED: Don't consider this unless it has power factoring sensors. I had the early Vue without power factoring and it was nearly pointless in my house. Wildly inaccurate. Vue 2 and 3 are very accurate because they added power factoring into the load calculations on each monitored circuit.

A commenter has stated that this system does advertise power factoring.

(Originally I had coupled power factoring with True-RMS, which was a mistake as pointed out in the replies.)

How easy is it to install? Do we need to hire certified electrician?
How easy it is to install depends on your comfort level around electricity. If you've replaced an outlet without hurting yourself, then you should be fine.

Before you start doing anything inside your main panel TURN OFF the main breaker. I can go into more detail on the installation, but the most difficult part will be to install the double pole breaker to power the device. Rest of installation should be a breeze since they are non-contact.

How is this compared to the Sense Energy Meter, I've had Sense for many years, and tbh I'm not very happy with it. It takes ages to find things and has too many items in the not found bubbles
