The individual circuit view has really helped me find some major drains in my house that I don't think inwould have found with a whole house solution. Something like a dieing refrigerator compressor suddenly using twice as much energy wouldn't show up on a whole house but is noticeable on single circuit tracking.

I know nothing about this company, but if their products are only available at Aliexpress, Amazon, and eBay, that's probably not a good sign.

Also, the Vue can be flashed with esphome which is nice if you're in that or the HA ecosystem.

Are the power wires the correct awg for the breaker you intend to use? Is it rated for a 15 or 20 amp breaker? Is it UL certified? Do you need permits when altering your service panel? If youre worried about leaving a light on get some exercise and take a walk before going to bed. lol

As far as I could tell...this doesn't install into the wiring at all.

It has a bunch of tiny amp detectors which clamp around the wires detect magnetic fields and only contact with the outside (insulation) of the wires

Maybe part of it needs power vs battery powered?

This is not a helpful comment. This device does not actually connect to any of your wiring. It senses current via the magnetic field emanating from the wire.

If you know very little about a topic, maybe just read and learn first.
So it does connect to the wiring, but through induction of magnetic fields instead of conducting electricity through wires.

What if there is an overvoltage or surge/lightning? What if the plastic CT covers melt or crumble over time, causing the core to make contact with the bus bar? Has a 3rd party accredited lab tested the various failure modes to ensure a hazardous condition wouldn't arise if any protection mechanisms fail?

Interestingly, there does seem to be a Home Assistant integration for this company: https://www.home-assistant.io/int...ns/refoss/

The energy monitoring model it specifies is the EM06 tho, which looks like an EU version, so no idea if it would work.
It should be same the number just means number of channels.

The EM06 has six channels this one is EM16 with sixteen channels

I actually did the opposite: switched from MyQ to Meross garage door opener. As you say not a lot of bells and whistles but works well. I've had it for 2 years now and it's pretty reliable.
That's awesome! The only reason why I made the switch was because my opener was equipped with the MyQ natively. (Otherwise, honestly I would have kept Meross unit).

Let me tell ya, this vs the $20-30 MyQ adapter kit?....

HEAPS, and I mean HEAPS and BOUNDS better in regards to setup (The Meross unit).

The MyQ is a NIGHTMARE. Anyone who isn't tech-savy will have a problem setting one up. I had to guide my mom through the entire process remotely...It was NOT fun.

(MyQ also RECENTLY removed more devices from their adapter kit without much notice from what I can tell... In the process they reverted my mom's setup and removed the device from the app altogether lol... She literally opened her App the NEXT DAY, and her device just dissapeared... POOF!)

I have a tenant in another unit but we share the same electric bill. I'd like to be able to calculate how much electricity they are using so that I can charge them accordingly.

Can this device be set up to create zones that track electricity usage by circuit breaker? e.g. 1-8 CTs are them, 9-16 are mine.

Seriously don't get the need case for this. And it's probably a trash product anyway.

Pretty sure it's a sponsored post too or some insider.

The energy monitor collects and transmits data needs power. Things I never take short cuts or chances with - electrical, NG/LPG, brakes on my motorcycles and car... and cheating on the wife. All can be very costly or worse Smilie

After I got my Emporia Vue, it was like having a case of net hypochondria for the first few months. I was always checking it. You really need some other homes' energy usage figures to compare yours against.

I think for the $30 difference I would still go with Emporia Vue (or similar).
Not familiar with this product, but Emporia's support is phenomenal.

I have 100amp service and use the emporia brand EV charger. The EV charger is 32 amps so my house can overload 100amps with the oven, clothes dryer, heat pump, well pump, and hot tub heater if too many big devices are on at once. Using the emporia version of this it knows when I am approaching my 100amp service limit and will pause my EV charger until im done cooking or drying clothes. If not for that.. none of these are worth owing more than a couple months to learn your house.

100 seems low nowadays. I'm in the desert though so we've had 150 due probably due to requiring central AC.

Where can I find a manual to review ? I have a 400A service that I would like to monitor, along with a few subpanels. Can I install two of these and view it as one system?
