As far as I could tell...this doesn't install into the wiring at all.
It has a bunch of tiny amp detectors which clamp around the wires detect magnetic fields and only contact with the outside (insulation) of the wires
Maybe part of it needs power vs battery powered?
If you know very little about a topic, maybe just read and learn first.
What if there is an overvoltage or surge/lightning? What if the plastic CT covers melt or crumble over time, causing the core to make contact with the bus bar? Has a 3rd party accredited lab tested the various failure modes to ensure a hazardous condition wouldn't arise if any protection mechanisms fail?
The energy monitoring model it specifies is the EM06 tho, which looks like an EU version, so no idea if it would work.
The EM06 has six channels this one is EM16 with sixteen channels
Let me tell ya, this vs the $20-30 MyQ adapter kit?....
HEAPS, and I mean HEAPS and BOUNDS better in regards to setup (The Meross unit).
The MyQ is a NIGHTMARE. Anyone who isn't tech-savy will have a problem setting one up. I had to guide my mom through the entire process remotely...It was NOT fun.
(MyQ also RECENTLY removed more devices from their adapter kit without much notice from what I can tell... In the process they reverted my mom's setup and removed the device from the app altogether lol... She literally opened her App the NEXT DAY, and her device just dissapeared... POOF!)
Can this device be set up to create zones that track electricity usage by circuit breaker? e.g. 1-8 CTs are them, 9-16 are mine.

Pretty sure it's a sponsored post too or some insider.
