I have a mini PC with lesser specs (Aoostar Gem10, 6800H). What exactly are you wanting answered? They're perfectly usable as a desktop for the vast majority of people. It's not a video editing workstation, but it's plenty for web browsing, video/audio streaming, office apps, etc. The iGPU is even decent for some light 1080p gaming. Avoid the N100 on mini PCs unless you're wanting as low wattage as possible, and most of them should be fine.

Wondering if this would work as a high end kodi box.

Think I rather the UM890 Pro for better port configuration but very tempted for this one.

Just following up to say after I looked at bios updates for GMKTec and seeing they file share off google drive, along with the feel of the support page, I opted not to go with the K8. Haven't bought the Minisforum UM980 yet but leaning that direction as their driver support pages at least appear somewhat better supported. I'm still debating if a mini pc is for me all together for my purposes.

That's what got me interested in these as well. I have a nVidia Shield TV from 2017 and (to me) it's feeling its age. So I've been watching YouTube and scouring forums and Amazon reviews looking for something to replace it. I'm wanting HTPC and emulation. I don't care about AAA games, as I have a full on desktop for that. I just want something easy and convenient for use with a controller.

I used to run a Xeon server that ran my Kodi frontend and it was killer - super stable, fast as hell, never stuttered on anything I threw at it. It also made a significant difference in my electric bill so I retired it and moved onto a little intel pc on a stick, then a Vero... they were ok but sometimes failed on 4k. Wanna get back to a high end frontend, just need a solid deal. I'm not convinced this is hot enough to jump on, plus it's only hdmi 2.0.

I absolutely agree. This is still too much for me to jump on. Now, some of the Ryzen 9 6900HX mini-PCs are down low enough to be really tempting to me. I'd like to have something a little bit newer, but the performance isn't enough to justify the increase in cost for the newer models.

Also, that is NUTS to use for a kodi build! LMAO

For the price the specs are great, you prob wont get better many other systems w/ better specs per dollar. The 8845HS is a fairly powerful APU and fairly capable for gaming as well for 1080p gaming. 32gb ram & 1tb nvme is pretty good imo the NVME prob isnt the fastest but you will still get a pretty fast system.
