I'm dating myself here, but I paid $1000 for a 40 inch Samsung back in 2006. It was the most beautiful thing I had seen after coming off of CRT's. it's amazing how cheap these have gotten after sourcing supply chains consolidating in low cost manufacturing areas, technology, advancements, intense competition, and alternative revenue models (for example, the TV spying on your viewing habits and reporting to the manufacturer to monetize) have driven the cost down. 100 inches, here we come. I'm waiting for the TVs to get so big, the biggest F150 can't even fit it

Yes, no broadcast tv in 120Hz, but this S450G series also has a relatively slow response time, which will be more important when watching sports.
From Rtings:"There's noticeable motion blur, which is ok for watching movies but not for gaming or watching sports. Dark transitions are especially slow, resulting in noticeable black smearing in shadow details."
