Battery life is insane. I can't argue about SSD space - it needs more. However, I never had any problems with memory and this was in the time where almost every program needed to be emulated because there were no native Apple Silicon apps. The $489 model is a good idea, but the 128GB device could work for anyone who is willing to deal with external drives.

Can confirm. I would say it's more than decent tho. Still a really great laptop. I have a 16GB model and it's always been reliable and snappy for work and other productivity. Although for still being like $600-$700 it better be for being 4 years old.

8GB is definitely enough for some people though especially if you're tied into Apple ecosystem and for durability, reliability, and battery.

Need 16gb and at least 512gb ssd
I am software engineer, specializing in performance tuning, my previous job I used 8 GB laptop to develop and test payment system used by 4 out of 10 biggest world banks. I am here to say - most people don't need more than 8 GB. Well, except those who also buy large 4L+ SUVs used for daily commute.

Apple dont make the Macbook Air M1 with 16GB anymore once it was removed from Apple's site so stop asking for it. Its an odd product offering for sure that can be purchased new from Walmart or other sites.

Apple's RAM pricing is downright criminal. It often costs 2x as much to get 16GB vs 8GB.

This is creating e-waste - these M1 devices would last for twice as long if they had 16 GB of RAM.

Feels like an issue the European Union should do something about.

LOL nice try. I drive a sedan, but I have 36GB RAM in my laptop and 64GB in my desktop.

Horrible deal.
It was around this price for certified refurbished and third party refurbished multiple times and such deals come after every other while.
Scratch and dent is just e-waste.
