I'd stay away from these cheapo clippers unless you occasionally use them. The motors are weak and the blades dull quickly. You will experience hair pulling at the slightest hint of resistance.
Get yourself a quality cordless from Wahl, Andis, Oster, babyliss and never look back. Just remember to apply oil and thoroughly clean after every use.

I had this set (older version) for years. Picked it up for $8.99 years ago. It was bad but it does the trick.

Fair warning - I have some Conair pet clippers that have been sitting in their box for 10 years, and I'm going to need to spend some quality time with some gasoline to get all of the dissolving gooey coating off. Still worth it since these are the metal-cased permanent magnet ones. (Edit: "these" = mine, not the $11.64 ones)

I shave my own head and a few years ago I went cordless; it has been a game changer. The cords on these things get all wonky because they spend the majority of their time wrapped up in storage. That causes them to develop lots of loops that love to grab onto anything nearby and knock it over. If you are like me and constantly switch between shaving the left side and the right side, you no longer have the flip the cable over the subject. You can also manipulate the clipper to any angle without having a cord get in the way.

The cordless clippers I got are presently $27.99 after clipping the $10 coupon. They hold a charger very well. I can only recall charging them twice in 3 years.

Not a bad deal... buy four of these and you can have a barbershop quartet.

The biggest problem with these lower-cost clippers is the blades can't be changed out when they start to wear/dull. Spending a bit more to get a cordless clipper that will take Oster or Andis blades is a better investment.

I have to agree about rechargeables being so much more convenient since the cord doesn't get in the way. I've been cutting my own hair for at least 10 years when I received an adjustable Norelco hair trimmer from one of the sites that used to let you video review their products for free. That trimmer so far has done a tremendous job, because the older I'm getting I can do at least as well as the barbers around me here, and I can keep that money in the bank.

The only thing I have had to do for that Norelco trimmer in 10 years is replace the plastic comb, and I got it cheap off ebay a few weeks ago.

I still have two such Norelco trimmers. One of them had the charging cable frayed, but one thing in common for the two of them (aside from worsening performance from the battery) is the blade: both had a plastic tab in the back break and the blade will detach mid-shave. Short of replacing the entire blade, I can either hold its back while shaving, or use some adhesive tape to keep it in place.

Ive been using this one for years too. The battery has all but died so I have to keep it plugged in to have full power while shaving.

There are videos on YouTube showing how to install a new battery. It looks reasonable to me. I'll try it when my battery needs to be replaced.
