Yes, they are a known good monitor brand.
And I will gladly concede that this monitor is not nearly as good as a monitor that is 2x - 3x's the price. If money is no object I wouldn't purchase a lesser known name open box ultrawide.
That said ...
1. The difference between 120hz and 144hz is minor and generally imperceptible for most gamers and most games. Competitive FPS type situations for really good gamers there is likely to be a difference. But at that level you are talking about needing to finely tune every single aspect of the gaming experience (M/K, audio, etc).
2. I consider myself a gamer with a wide collection of games and types. I can report that personally, I have not seen any tearing or ghosting on my monitor. It has worked just fine. I'm pushing my 4070 Ti Super to it's limits with RDR2, Alan Wake 2, and other demanding games.
3. If you have the budget, absolutely spend more. This is a value buy. In my opinion, you can get 90% of the experience of monitors that cost 2x3's as much.

I decided to take the plunge. I really couldn't be happier. The monitor looked brand new, it was easy to set-up, and has worked flawlessly for 6 months now. I'm all in now on ultrawides and am looking at the 57" Neo for my next purchase.
The only downside to this monitor, and it is purely a personal opinion, is that the curve is less aggressive than I would want.
Working on this is a dream. Things like Excel are amazing. Gaming is great. Many games don't support the aspect ratio but when they do (looking at you RDR2) it is spectacular.
