I have this one and the finish is all messed up. It's also not that heavy. I'd recommend buying a different one.

Alternatively: plastic wrap and a rolling pin can get the job done

I keep my tools in my shed, so anytime I want to use the mallet, I have to walk out there. This way it can just stay in my kitchen. And not be a giant rubber mallet in my kitchen haha.

The mallet worked great when I was in a 1 bd apartment though. Worked REALLY well.

Seems like aluminum isn't a great choice of material for this kind of thing.

I agree with this. If you put it in the dishwasher, the coating on it disintegrates some how. I'm definitely getting a different one if I ever decide to purchase another tenderizer.
